So today I had my 36 week doctor appt. The usual pee in a cup (seriously- how do they expect us women to do this when we cannot see down there anymore!), take my weight and blood pressure. But today I also got a flu shot, tested for Group B strep, and I got an ultrasound! So it was an exciting appt!
Baby girl is doing great! She is still head down, has plenty of fluid around her, and was moving around crazy like- like usual. My doctor commented on how chubby her cheeks are! I think she will look like a Buddha baby like her daddy did!
My doctor said at this point, she is good and "baked" so if she decided to come anytime from now on- they would not be stopping my labor. This made things seam more real! I do hope she stays in for another couple of weeks though!
Everything else is going well. I took last week off from walking for the most part, but today Justin, Ainsley and I went for a two mile walk when I got home from work. Hopefully I can keep up some amount of walking for the next couple weeks. My hips are wiggly and a little sore so we shall see!
Today I went to visit a former student of mine. He is 5 years old and he has not seen me since before I was showing. He gave me this huge hug and said with a big grin "Katie, your belly got so fat!" It was the cutest thing. I love children's honesty. He is quite the artist so I asked him to draw a "girly" picture for the baby. He said "How about a train?" I said that was great, but can he make it pink? So he did! I hope to hang in the nursery. What little girl would not love a pink train?

So how are you feeling?
If I had a dollar for every time I have been asked this in the last month alone I would be a rich girl (and with the economy the way it is right now...that would be helpful!!). But if I had a dollar for every time I have been asked this in the last 8 months I would not have to work for the rest of my life! Ha ha ha.
So, to answer the question that has everyone on the edge of their seats...I am feeling pretty good :) Well yes, I have more water in my feet/kankles than the Great Lakes combined...and I have sworn off the scale for the rest of the pregnancy...but other than that I am good. I am having BH contractions daily (they do not hurt- my tummy just turns to stone for 30 seconds or so which incidentally makes me feel like I need to pee) which are supposed to actually be a good thing. It's like a work out for the uterus-getting ready to push this child out- which is fantastic because I am starting to realize that yes- I will have to actually have to push her out eventually. So all the exercise my uterus can get in the mean time is a good thing, right?
I have been trying to keep up my walking, though it's getting harder. Ainsley and I try to walk 2 miles a day 3-5 days a week...last week I walked about 7-8 and the week before we went about 10-11. But this week my hips are not thrilled with all this movement. My inner thighs actually feel like I have been using a thigh master for hours on end! I guess it's that extra 25 pounds I am carrying?
All in all, I do feel pretty good. I have been lucky that I did not have morning sickness and my pregnancy has gone pretty smoothly (knock on wood). Hopefully...the whole labor and delivery will follow suit!
Only about 4 1/2 weeks until D Day....

Random Baby Related Pictures....
And then there came furniture...(and car seats, and strollers, and...)
So babies require quite a bit of..."stuff". After we painted the room, we had furniture to put together!

Here is daddy putting the crib together

Here is mommy putting together drawers for the changing table and dresser

Miss Nippy in "her" room. Just ask her and she will tell you its all for her!
And then Brinkley- he also thinks the room is for him!

Here is daddy and Ainsley opening the box to our BOB stroller!

Here is Ainsley on his bed in the nursery. He LOVES this bed- and slept there the first night we got it! He will be such a great big brother!
Here is daddy reading the car seat directions! Is he not just so handsome!?
Once we got all the furniture together...we had to figure out all the other "things" she will need! Like the car seat.

And of course, Brinkley Charles "helping" the best he knows how!!
Of course, these are just a few of her "things"! This little girl already has a closet full of clothes, an awesome swing (which also becomes a bouncer), a ton of books (thanks to her Aunti Melissa L!) and other goodies... what a lucky little one!!!

My awesome brother, Rick, and sister-in-law, Jen, wanted to get us something special for the baby, so they got us a package at a 3D/4D ultrasound place here in the bay. It was so awesome! In fact, at the place we went to, we could bring up to 10 people, and they put the picture up on a big screen (ok, so it was the wall- but whatever!). So, we took both sets of our parents, as well as Rick, Jen, and my niece Darienne. It really was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had! Our baby girl was moving all around the whole time (which is typical!) and we got some great pics. Here are some of them...Thanks Uncle Rick and Aunti Jen!!!
