A Day in Dublin

Today the family woke up early, went grocery shopping and then took a nice walk to the Dublin St. Patrick's Day Festival! Well of course a town with the name of Dublin must have its own St. Patty's Day Festivities! There were TONS of booths, music, dancing, BEER (what St. Patty's celebration could be complete without some brew??), and carnival rides. The booths were mostly crafts and such but there were also some local businesses there and some of them we were actually interested in learning more about, since we are still pretty new to the city. Mostly, we were interested in a swim school and a gymnastics studio since we have been thinking of getting her into those. I really want to get her in a dance class, but we will have to wait about a year...

Anyway...it turned out to be a beautiful day, and it was actually quite warm on our walks! We had a great time...and of course I brought my camera...

Here is Ellie all ready to go..I CAN'T believe she can reach the door knob now!!!!

And after we told her it was time to go...

We walked from our house...about 1 1/2 miles or so. When we got there Ellie wanted to get out and check everything out. Then it was time to walk around and check out all the booths. We tried to have her fingerprinted but THAT did NOT go over well! And she was pointing and babbling towards a puppet booth and then decided once she got closer that they were scary!

So we walked through all the booths and got some free goodies here and there. Then it was time for lunch...Well...Justin and I ate lunch...Ellie was too busy dancing to the Irish music!! After lunch we walked through the rides, thinking Ellie may want to go on one but she was even a little scared by the train ride! SO not like her. Oh well!

Then...since I am always BEHIND the camera...I asked Justin to take a picture of Ellie and Mommy...

About this time it was time to leave....but right where you leave there was a stage with children dancing to Irish music...and Ellie LOVES TO DANCE!!!! SO we had to stay a while so that she could dance with the "big kids".

It was SO hard to pull her away but she had been up since 8am (really 7 am you know...since we lost an hour last night) and she needed a nap. Lets just say she was NOT thrilled with mommy and daddy...

But not to worry...here she was 20 minutes later on the walk home.

Well that was our BUSY Sunday! Ellie slept for quite a while when we got home (and I attempted to do reading for my class...yeah not. so. much.) and right now is taking a bath. She reeked of sunscreen!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
