And then there came furniture...(and car seats, and strollers, and...)

So babies require quite a bit of..."stuff". After we painted the room, we had furniture to put together!

Here are all the parts of the crib scattered about...

Here is daddy putting the crib together

Here is mommy putting together drawers for the changing table and dresser
Here is daddy putting together the dresser
Miss Nippy in "her" room. Just ask her and she will tell you its all for her!
And then Brinkley- he also thinks the room is for him!
Here is Ainsley on his bed in the nursery. He LOVES this bed- and slept there the first night we got it! He will be such a great big brother!
Once we got all the furniture together...we had to figure out all the other "things" she will need! Like the car seat.
Here is daddy reading the car seat directions! Is he not just so handsome!?

Here is daddy and Ainsley opening the box to our BOB stroller!

Putting it together...

And of course, Brinkley Charles "helping" the best he knows how!!
Of course, these are just a few of her "things"! This little girl already has a closet full of clothes, an awesome swing (which also becomes a bouncer), a ton of books (thanks to her Aunti Melissa L!) and other goodies... what a lucky little one!!!

Painting.....

So last month we painted the nursery a pale yellow. Here are some pictures!

Here is the daddy-to-be taping up all the edges!!
One wall done....

Here is mommy-to-be helping (wearing a heavy duty mask!!)
And here is dadddy-to-be finishing up the last wall!
Here I am with paint on my head!!
Fun fun....glad the painting is over!!!

Cashew in 3D

My awesome brother, Rick, and sister-in-law, Jen, wanted to get us something special for the baby, so they got us a package at a 3D/4D ultrasound place here in the bay. It was so awesome! In fact, at the place we went to, we could bring up to 10 people, and they put the picture up on a big screen (ok, so it was the wall- but whatever!). So, we took both sets of our parents, as well as Rick, Jen, and my niece Darienne. It really was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had! Our baby girl was moving all around the whole time (which is typical!) and we got some great pics. Here are some of them...Thanks Uncle Rick and Aunti Jen!!!

Cashew in 3D- 31 1/2 weeks along:

She already looks like her daddy!!!

Cashew aka Cougar Diesel aka Baby Girl Yeh

So I am starting this blog to keep everyone up-to-date on our little bundle of joy on the way. When I was first pregnant, we wanted to have something to call the baby other then...the baby. I had heard of others calling the little one "peanut" or "bean" and told Justin this. So he started to name off a bunch of nuts and when he said Cashew- we decided this one was perfect! Plus, that's what she actually looked like!!

So then there is the second name that came to be...Cougar Diesel. Justin and I were headed up to my parents home one weekend (3 hour drive) to attend my nephew, Geoff's, high school graduation party. On the way up, Justin thought he would start going through the baby name book I had bought. Since we did not yet know the sex, we decided to start looking at boy names (mostly because there were far less boy names we liked than girls). Justin finds the name Cougar, and we laugh and joke that it is perfect!! Then I look down and see the name Diesel...and it just clicked...Cougar Diesel Yeh! PERFECT! Ha ha ha!

That evening we told my Brother and Sister in Law, who thought this was the best name EVER! In fact, they wanted us to mess with my parents and tell them that was the name we had decided on- for a boy or a girl!! (which I just could not do!). But from that point on, Cashew had yet another name- Cougar Diesel. In fact- thanks to Auntie Jen and Uncle Rick, our little girl actually has a little jacket and hat that say Cougar D. on them!!! I CANNOT WAIT to have her wear them!!!

So that is the story behind her names. Here are some pics from our 20 week ultrasound done on 7-7-08 (our one year wedding anniversary!) where we found out she is a girl!

How it all started

So you may be wondering how the Yeh family began. 5 1/2 years ago, two young college students were drinking it up at Normal Street Bar in Chico, CA. Through a mutual friend (Hippy) they were introduced and the rest is history.

Here they were the night it all began.

Since that faithful day in May, 2003, Justin and Katie have had an incredible 5 1/2 year adventure inclusive of graduations, first jobs, first homes, first pets, and of course a beautiful wedding in Lake Tahoe on 7-7-07! We have traveled all over from Hawaii to the Bahamas to Hong Kong and Thailand and of course Jamaica on our honeymoon! What was left- but to have a baby!?

Here are some pictures from our life together.
